We have finally reached the last update for "Captive in Love" a story that was formed over late night chat with Suranya. I have never ever written romantic fics as I always felt I couldn't justice to the feelings and emotions like Suranya does in her stories. I'm quiet content with action, comedy and drama. For me Captive in Love is not merely a collab rather it was me taking on a genre that felt out of my reach. Thank you Suranya for being the editor and co-creator of this amazing tale of muisbat and her kharus kunwar!!!
Thank you readers for joining us on this journey. This is not a goodbye just the end of a really amazing chapter and I will do my best to bring more amazing fics to you
I will be going on a family trip for nearly a month and so the blog won't have any new postings as such but rest assured I do have some stories in the works and we will meet after 16th April with a new plot, new story and our very own Praja, Heerti and the gang
Till then keep reading Suru's current tale , The Royal Match Making http://suranyasenguptablog.blogspot.ae/2017/01/match-found.html
Hope you will enjoy the epilogue
Captive
Forever
Couple of Years Later
Ajabde sat in
her cabin working on one of the proposals for the annual trade fair that was to
be organized by the women’s welfare department to showcase their new products.
Heer entered the cabin completely fed-up of her husband’s antics
“Jija he’s
driving me crazy!! Matlab going online to look for properties and kal I saw him
looking at video tutorials on how to make escapes and run aways”
Ajabde laughed
as she asked for tea to be delivered in her room while Heer just sat confused,
“samajh mein nahi aata ki hasu ya sunaao unko. Jyotika is in junior school and
Prateeskha toh is only in kindergarden”
On the other
side Shakti sat with a serious frown on his face as he told his brother,
“Dadabhai am telling you we need to invest in a good apartment taaki jab bhi
koi aayega with rishta we’ll run away with the girls”
Both brothers
were busy on the laptop when their wives came to meet them and seeing the two
so keenly looking at the screen Heer asked “Kya dekha jaa raha hai?” without
looking up Pratap answered, “Penthouse”. Both the girls stared at him when
Pratap realized what he had said and looked at them,
“I meant investment areas you know property is
really good investment hai na Shakti?” his younger brother nodded his head.
Ajabde just
shook her head while Heer sighed, “Aap bhi Dadabhai aagaye inki batoon mein”
before Pratap could answer Heer, his cell rang and the ID made him frown. 45minutes later all the kids stood in his
cabin as everyone stood staring at them. Frowns and cold looks around. None of
the kids spoke anything about the event, the younger ones were already at home
so they had no idea on what happened, Amar who stood with a bruised lip and
bloody knuckles, Jyotika’s hair were disheveled, it clearly looked she was part
of the fight too then there was Salim who also looked like he got a good
beating and gave it back and Abhimanyu, also stood with his sleeves folded and
bruises all over.
He calmly asked
them, “Who is responsible for this?” none of them answered. Heer tried asking
them softly taking each one aside but in vain. Even Abhimanyu who told his
darling Kakimaa everything stayed quiet leaving Pratap no choice but to punish
them. He was about to say a word when his wife entered her eyes fixed on the
children standing in a line looking at the carpet. She walked straight to Salim
“Aapko last few
weeks se sab pareshaan kar rahe thee yeh baat kyun nahi bataai ghar mein?”
Salim looked at the floor as he mumbled, “Abba jaan busy hai with his
exhibition and I didn’t want to…” Her eyes turned to Jyotika
“Baisa did you
punch those students?” Jyotika looked at her and shook her head softly saying,
“Ji Badi Maa” Heer gasped at her answer while Shakti and Pratap looked worried
at each other. Pratap walked to her, knelt down and held her hands in his,
“Meri Jyoti apne
Bade Papa se kuch nahi chupaati Bataao why did you punch the boy?”
Jyoti looked
straight at him saying, “Hum Rajput hain na and agar koi bhi humaare saamne
weak ko tang karega ya maarega then humaare responsibility hai to help the weak
person and yahan baat mere best friend ki thi.”
“Ha Beta par…”
Pratap patted her hair in order with an understanding nod as Heer looked at
Shakti who seemed to flaunt a proud smile much to her dismay.
“Badima kehti
aisa. Uss ladke ne Salim ko pehle washroom mein maara then lock kar diya and
jab Dadabhai usko free kara ke laaye tab bhi usko maarne ke liye aage badhe”
“Jyoti” Amar
warned with a soft nod not to diverge the details. Pratap stared at him through
the corner of his eye and knew that none will speak further.
Pratap dialed a
number and walked out with Ajabde following him worried. Jyoti looked at them
and then at her father’s face his expression made her look down at the floor as
she thought to herself she had disappointed them all.
“Sorry Daata, I
never wanted to disappoint you. Meri wajah se hi Dadabhai got involved and Bhai
Abhimanyu bhi” Both the brothers looked at their sister and Abhimanyu went,
“Nahi, that boy deserved a good punch mere Dadabhai aur Jija ko maarne aaya tha
peeche se and peeche se attack only cowards karte hain Dadisa ne bataaya humko
story time mein”
“Doctor is on
his way” Pratap said in a calm voice as he re-entered the room and went
straight for his favorite “everyone here is proud of you Jyotika bahut kam log
himmat dikhaate hain and by standing up for your friend you have proved ki you
are a true Rajputani but aage se tell us ki kya ho raha hai taaki we can
intervene in time, Understood?”
She nodded her
head as he ruffled her hair while she hugged him tight as the others smiled.
Back at home
Abhimanyu very animatedly told his Dadisa the Veer gatha of how he along with
his Dadabhai and Jija defeated the bad boys and won the battle of the school
yard entertaining her with his antics. Moving his hands showing how they
punched them like true Rajputs made Sajja smile.
The famous
“Kitchen takeover” took place as both Pratap and Shakti stood in the kitchens
wearing their aprons and chef hats while the excited kids acted as their sous
chefs. The ladies laughed as Abhimanyu tried every trick to make the twins
pronounce, “Kitchen …kitchen” only to hear “chicken…chicken” over and over
again. Everyone enjoyed the khicdi, kheer and salad that was already half eaten
as it was being prepared in the kitchen.
As night settled
everyone sat outside in the courtyard with a bon fire lit in the centre to keep
everyone warm while Pratap played strings on his guitar as Amar saw and played
the same as he jammed with his father, Jyotika created melodies out of her
violin while the twins sat on their toy drum set and Abhimanyu played his mouth
organ. Ajabdeh smiled at the night sky full of stars then back at her boys, and
the mini band of the family. It was her favorite time watching kids create
music with her Kharus. She looked at the watch and realised it was late and
looked at the kids who smiled at each other as they started playing her song
Abhi na jaao chod kar ke dil abhi bhara
nahin
Abhi abhi to aayi hoo
abhi abhi to Abhi abhi to aayi ho
bahar banke chhayi ho
abhi to kuchh kuchh kaha nahin
Abhi
to kuchh suna nahin
Abhi na jaao chod kar
ke dil abhi bhara nahin
Amar sang as the
rest followed with the melody making her smile as he stopped forgetting the
lines staring at his father, making Ajabdeh smile some more as her husband
began singing, his melodious voice filling the air
Hawa zara mahak to le
nazar jara bahek to le
Ye shaam dhal to le zara
Ye dil samhal to le zara
Main thoti der jee too loon
nashe ke ghuunt pi to loon
Nash eke ghunt pi to loon
Abhi to kuch kaha nahi Abhi to kuch suna
nahi
With all them
joining in the chorus
Abhi na jaao chod kar
ke dil abhi bhara nahin
Ajabde walked
back to her room after making sure all the kids were tucked in for the night.
As she walked memories filled her thoughts as she reminisced the times when
they brought the children home, Amar was the first one followed by Jyotika and
then they had Abhimanyu. The twins completed their family and their names were
the easiest to keep
The naming ceremony was filled with close family and
friends as the priest gave them the letter ‘P’ for the children’s names. Shakti
smiled as he looked at his newborn son in his arms, “Prateek” and then at his
daughter “Prateeksha”
He will be the symbol of our family morals and she is
the fruit of our waiting.
Inside her
bedroom she found a white lilly kept on top of a black leather journal. She
opened it and saw his name written in calligraphy, Pratap Singh Songara. She
frowned at it once, then opened the first page which started with
“Dedicated to my
Run Away bride”
He had written
her a story, their story including his beginnings. Her fingers caressed the
words, Mrs Ajabde Pratap Singh Songara with a doodle of the handcuffs and a
white lilly.
“Like the gift?”
he asked her his voice raising goose bumps as he stood behind her with his
hands playing with her hair. She nodded her head and then asked, “handcuffs?”
He looked into
her eyes, “Handcuffs because am your captive my lady. Captive in your love that
freed me from all the hurt and the pain I had endured. I’m nothing but a humble
a captive”
She placed her
hand on his heart as she said, “Captive in love?”
He kissed her
forehead as they both stared smiling at the family portrait that hung on the
wall. There was a time when they both were running away from the mere idea of
falling in love as it was nothing more than a weakness for them but as they
stood in each other’s embrace they both realized that love was the strength
that allowed one to be free from all bondages and yet be bound to one person
for eternity.
Love is the
strength to keep fighting on till the end. The hands that help you get up after
you stumble and fall down, the force that keeps you going step after step on
the most difficult paths. Love is the sweetest pain, the hardest insecurities
and yet the most cherished journey. Love is rare, and that what is rare is
always true!
Maybe that’s why
it’s said
“Yeh
ishq nahi aasan
Itna samjha
lijiye
Aag ka dariya
hai
Aur doob ke
jaana hai…”
