Target
Rann Singh
looked at the video footage of the blast that had been taken by a citizen who
had captured it in his camera. He was happy to get his hands on the footage
before the media who had gone crazy over the blast. No terrorist organisation
had taken the credit for the blast and even the underworld was silent over the
incident that had led to the question
Who was
responsible for the attack?
One of the
sub-inspectors came along with a pot-bellied man who looked a little scared and
lost but quietly made his way to Rann Singh’s cabin. Rann Singh looked at the
man who wanted to share some details about the blast
Man: Sir ji
I own the small paan shop in the market and an hour before the blast a young
man dressed in black came to my shop asking for directions. He was sweating and
looked nervous so as a friendly gesture I made him a paan but he refused to
take it. He kept looking at his mobile phone and then a car stopped and he ran
to it.
Rann Singh:
Do you remember his face?
Man: Ji sir
Rann: Get a
sketch done and then send it to every station.
Man: Sir ji
I totally forgot the man forgot his mobile at my shop. Here you go
Rann: Thank
you. Get me everything on this device (the sub inspector nods his head and
leaves)
The police
were doing a re-check of the area where the dead body had been found when one
of the constables found foot prints and decided to follow them. Two of them
followed the foot prints till they came upon a dilapidated hut where they
discovered some bloodied clothes and pictures.
Pratap and
Ajabde looked at Rawatji who nodded his head as Rann Singh entered his cabin to
meet up with them. Rawatji had called both of them at the Sisodias office where
they were informed of some developments regarding which Rann Singh wished to
speak to them.
Rann Singh:
Good to see you are both are healing well
Pratap’s
hand was still in a cast and Ajabde had a bandage on her forehead. Both nodded
but it was their entwined hands that Rann Singh quickly glanced too
RS: While
pursuing the investigation for the blasts we had some developments on the
murder case. The body belonged to a Vikram Singh who was an outstation student
who had come for studies. His family has been notified and the only thing we
have found is that he was paid to deliver the package to you. Now we have
strong evidence that shows your connection to the case Miss Punwar
Ajabde:
What?
RS: Vikram
delivered the package to you. You told us that you have been receiving red
roses prior to this incident as well
Ajabde: This
leads you to believe that I have a hand in the murder of that boy
Rawatji: She is the victim here Inspector
RS: I agree
Rawatji. She is the victim and also the target. A dilapidated hut was
discovered in the same area as Vikram where we found bloodied clothes and
pictures. These pictures to be precise
All three of
them stared at the girl smiling in the pictures but it was the one hidden under
the rest that Ajabde pulled up. Dressed in a red saree with her hair tied
neatly in a bun with a smile gracing her face Ajabde realised who she was
looking at
A short but interesting one....
