You and I
It was an
ordinary day with birds chirping, sun shining bright, people following their
daily routines – children sitting in buses chatting away the time till they
reached school, ladies making breakfast for their families, men and women alike
going off to their offices, vendors setting up their stalls for the day amongst
the chaos rang a melodious voice that brought time to a standstill – she was
singing her morning bhajan – ankhiyan hari darshan ko pyaasi. Her voice carried
along the corridors of her cottage where she lived alone as her entire family
had died in a horrific car crash with her being the only survivor. After
finishing her bhajan she offered water to Tulsi plant kept in the corridor and
then she went to pack her belongings before she went to her college. College
was a welcome escape for her as it took her away from the loneliness not that
she was ever left alone- he never left her alone for even a second but he had
gone for a competition and this time she couldn’t accompany him as she was
preparing for her own dance competition that was about to take place in a
week’s time so she was spending majority of her time in the rehearsals at the
studio. Dressed in simple blue kurti with leggings she tied her wet hair into a
messy bun as she went on packing her jhola with books and her changing bag with
her dance dress – comfy yoga pants and a loose tee, towel and water bottle.
After locking up her place for the day she smiled at the people passing by when
a horn honked making her look at the car parked on the opposite lane. He sat in
the driver’s seat with aviators; his hair as usual messy and he wore a white
crisp shirt and was smiling. She crossed the lane and sat in the car keeping
her bags at the back and turned to look at him
When did you
return?
Late last
night around 2ish
You should
have taken a day off. You’ll seriously fall sick
Wanted to
take a day off but then who would have taken you?
I can go by
the bus baba like I have been…she closed her mouth (placing both her hands on
it) she looked at him like a mouse caught by a cat. Sorry
He smiled: I
know you have been enjoying the bus rides Miss Punwar but today your driver is
back on duty
Ajabde
smiled: So back to being my chauffeur huh Mr Sisodia
Pratap: I
will be anyone you want any time.
As the car
sped away a man in hood appeared from behind the tree gazing towards the home
of his beloved. He had been following her religiously for the last 10 days and
knew most of her schedule- her college, dance classes, grocery shop and the
people she met he had all of them memorised. He typed a message and pressed
send before he turned and walked away whistling
Driving off
she told him about everything that had happened in his absence including her
upcoming dance performance for the cultural festival whose training sessions
were on in full swing. Suddenly she remembered something
Ajabde:
Thank you
Pratap: for?
Ajabde: The
red roses you sent me earlier
Pratap: Red
roses? I didn’t send you any roses Ajab. Did they come with any card or anything?
Ajabde:
No…It must be for Phool and the poor delivery guy must have confused our places
like the previous times. You know she lives a lane after mine but the delivery
tends to deliver many of her parcels to my place
Pratap:
hmmmm still
Ajabde: I know I’ll be careful. I swear you and
the guys are like CID seeing things where there is noneWhile on the other hand the media was covering the court for some sensational piece of news as the judge would be giving out his verdict in the Jadhav-Singhania VS Paakhi Kapoor in the Kalpana Jadhav Singhania murder case. The media frenzy was increasing as the guilty Paakhi Kapoor was brought into the court- questions were hurled at her and then at her family and as soon as the Jadhav-Singhania clan arrived they were targeted as well
Reporter: As we saw no one has given any comment or statement with regards to today's proceedings and surprisingly Raghav Singhania is missing. He is not in attendance for the hearing and sources say that he is currently working on a deal. Ever since Kalpana Jadhav Singhania's death he has turned into a major workaholic refusing to meet anyone and occupies his time by working day in and out.
Everyone was waiting for the verdict which would change lives of a lot of people especially of the girl who at the time was off to her college with her friends totally unaware that one judgement would raise hell into her rather simple life
