No Regrets

No Regrets

He stood completely numb under the shower reminiscing of everything that had happened in the last couple of hours. He never imagined that one lapse in his judgment would lead to such consequences.

Her big doe-like eyes stared at him clearly showing her desire. He looked back his own heart beating way too fast but knowing fully well that he desired the same as her.

“No regrets,” he asked bending his head slightly.

She threw her arms around his neck and pulled him for a kiss, “no regrets”

Dressed for the main event- his parent's wedding, he walked out playing along with his role of the dutiful son who was happy for his family but his insides were completely twisted and reminding him of his mistakes. Her laughter stopped him in his tracks as his gaze landed on the girl laughing along with Shakti. His eyes tightened and he picked up his pace,

“Shakti, we have been called for work” his voice was cold, authoritative and focused on his younger brother. Without waiting for response, he turned around and walked away.

She stared at his retreating figure confused about his behaviour. Everything that had happened between them was a one-time thing and both of them were clear about it. Neither wanted a relationship nor were they interested in it to be a regular thing. Both of them were drunk, attracted to each other and wanted to enjoy the moment. She had left him sleeping in the early hours well aware of the appearances they both had to maintain in front of the family. She shook her head, “it’s his problem not mine” she reminded herself and focused on the tasks before the wedding.

His eyes never left her for one second throughout the ceremony. She had arranged everything as per his Ranimaa’s wishes as well as merged the royal aspects of the wedding.
“Baujiraj” Chakrapani used his nickname from childhood, “I’m getting married. She is everything and so much more.”

He was really happy for his friend. Chakrapani was a simple guy who believed in the goodness of others, always helped everyone without expecting anything in return. His eyes turned downwards as the realisation hit him hard, he had hurt his friend in the most awful way

“She’s the owner of an event management company- Bandhan, based in Delhi. Her name is Saubhagyawati”

He crushed the business card that she had unknowingly left behind in the room. The card he had kept in his pocket, the card that clearly stated that she was the owner of the events company-Bandhan. She was none other than his friend’s fiancĂ© – Saubhagyawati.

She walked away from the scene that had been created by his aunt and his silence. Her anger was boiling enough to completely burn them all out but she had to keep up appearances. Her phone buzzed with a message from Jiwa. The investor’s meeting had been preponed and would take place two days ahead of its schedule. She responded to the text and requested Jiwa to prepare for her travel and accommodation.

“Just one more night and then I’ll be back to my world” she reminded herself. One more night and she will close his chapter in her life forever.

Pratap walked determined to speak with her to clear out everything. It was true that he had made a mistake but there was one way to make amends- by informing Chakrapani about everything. Before speaking with Chakrapani, he wanted to speak with her to see if she had anything to say to him. He stopped midway as she stood dressed in a saree with her hair tied in a bun with a gajra adorning it. Her make up was minimal, kohl-lined her eyes, glossy lips laughing at something Patta said. His heart tightened on seeing her laugh without a care in the world while he was suffering about his mess.

“Dadabhai Pratap” Patta called out as her eyes landed on him. She smiled hoping his mood was better but his reaction killed her hopes.

“Excuse me,” she stepped back, “Patta, Kunwarsa” she called him by his title. “I must check on the final preps for the reception. I will see you tonight.”

Their hands brushed against each other’s sending the same electric current that they had felt that night.

“We are both drunk”, he pointed at the empty alcohol bottles. “Maybe we should both call it a night”

“Do you want to?” she asked her head tilted, eyes staring at him straight-on. Things seemed to happen at a fast pace as she found herself in his embrace with his lips close to hers

“I….” his fingers trailed on the bare skin of her hand up to her arm spreading tingles all over. Without wasting any more time, she pressed her lips to his sealing everything away in a kiss.

It had been way too long since a guy had made her feel this way and knowing well that there was no future for them, she did not want to miss on this chance. He felt the same way about her, no girl had ever made him feel like this the way she did and he didn’t want to let go off this chance.

“One night,” she looked at him, “just tonight and then we go our different ways”

Her big doe-like eyes stared at him clearly showing her desire. He looked his own heart beating way too fast but knowing fully well that he desired the same as her.

“No regrets” he asked bending his head slightly.

She threw her arms around his neck and pulled him for a kiss, “no regrets.”

She stood watching the venue for the grand reception come alive. Her heart still beating way too fast since her encounter with him and his electric touch

“Maybe he has regrets” she thought to herself sadly.

  2. I agree Suranya... They are sizzling hot. What I liked was their no regret stand.

Poor Pratap was taken for a bad ride!! Was the talk with Chakrapani during the ceremonies or before that... Coz I am a bit confused about Prataps behavior when she was talking to Shakti. Was it only because he was not able to let her go from his mind??

Glad you enjoyed it. Pratap overthinks a bit and complicates matters. There will be an update on his behaviour soon and hopefully that would clear things up
