The Perfect Name
Small chits of paper lay open on the table surrounded by all of them as they tried to come up with the perfect name for their team.
“Ram-Hansa Milan group” Jiwa read the name on the chit with a shake of her head. She picked another hoping that one would be decent, “Papa-mummy reunion”, “Defeat Ajabde at all costs” she moved the chits away and looked at the others who sat with straight faces.
“Looks like you all could do with some snacks and tea” Kokoia ji entered the room with a maidservant following behind her. She took her place while the maid set the tea and snacks on the table. Kokoia ji read some of the names and shook her head,
“These names are completely ridiculous” she laughed as the kids made a face. Chand looked at her, “but we need the perfect name for our group. A name that defines our mission of reuniting Kakasa and Kakisa.”
Kokoia ji picked up the pen and paper and scribbled something on it. She placed the chit in the centre so that everybody could read it. “Why do you need to come up with the perfect name when Yash Chopra has already done it for you- the chit read DDLJ.”
All eyes sparkled in victory for they had just found the perfect name- Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge.
Kokoia ji smiled as the servants placed the bags in the trunk of the car. Everything was going according to the plan. They were all going back to Bijolia to hijack the wedding as Ajabde had predicted. She sighed as an image of the eldest Punwar came to her mind, the smiling face of the child who hid pain well inside of her.
“They have left for Bijolia,” Jalal told the girl who was practising her dance routine. He smiled seeing her making all the graceful moves with that smile on her face and her eyes that spoke more than words. His eyes moved around the room only to stop at the pictures that covered the wall- two girls dancing, both of them with prizes and solo pictures of the girls. One image was of a boy and girl dressed as Krishna and Radha- Pratap was good looking even as a kid, Jalal thought to himself, but it was the boy in the back that made him look at the picture from up close. The other boy was younger than Pratap, and he was dressed as a male and his eyes were completely focused on the second girl who was holding her prize up in the air
“Shakti’s a hopeless romantic” Ajabde commented as she patted her face with the towel and took a sip from her bottle. “He loves her madly and does everything in his power to make her happy, but he needs to realise that Heer cannot be happy unless she chooses it.”
“And you plan on uniting them along with your parents” Jalal laughed, “maybe we should rename our WhatsApp group to Ajabde ne bana di Jodi.”
They shared a laugh as Ajabde turned and walked away leaving him behind alone. Jalal looked at her retreating figure as he took a look at their WhatsApp group and smiled, the title read- RNBDJ – Rab ne bana di jodi. Maybe God did work as a matchmaker; all God did be send down selected souls who would fight hard to unite people everywhere just like Ajabde who under the guise of making her mother happy was uniting not only her family but bringing other together as well.
Toooooo much SRK in this one making me drool. Ajab ne bana di jodi ❤️
