The Aftermath
“How did the papers change?” DheerBai asked the legal team who all stood dumbfounded. Ajabde had shaken everyone to their core when she had opened the file and showed the paperwork that was inside them. Instead of the paperwork for the business merger, divorce papers had stared them straight in their faces. And if that was not possible, Ajabde had gained the upper hand over her,
“As per the prenuptial agreement between Raoji and my Maasa, if Rao ji signs the divorce papers first then my Maasa gets 77 per cent of the shares of the business and Bijolia palace along with all of the family heirlooms.”
Dheerbai smashed the vase kept on the corner as the realisation of her failure sank. She should have been more careful especially with Ajabde but who would have thought that the Rao ji’s firstborn would ever return. Not only had her return cost Dheer her plan but it had made things difficult for her. Now Hansabai held the upper hand as she became the owner of the Punwar group with 77 per cent shares and the property under her name. She needed to come up with a new plan, and for that, she needed to figure out Ajabde’s play.
Rao ji took refuge in his study and requested to be left alone. He stared at the picture frame that he kept hidden from everyone even his children. Running his fingers over the glass that encased his wife’s smiling face he sighed. The picture was an old one, taken during their first Ganguar post their marriage. Bijolia had been decked out, and they had gone to the main complex for the rituals. They were both dressed in their royal attires and jewellery, but it was their smiles that spoke tons. He had taken his bride away for a short while and got the pictures taken. She had been shy and warned him about others, but at that moment all that mattered was the happiness that shone in her eyes,
“when did we move so far apart?” he wondered sadly to himself.
It was pretty late when the doors to his office cabin were burst open with a loud bam. Looking up from his system, Pratap Singh Sisodia stared at the scene, both Patta and Heer looked distraught while their respective spouses came hurrying after them panting.
“Bring in water quickly, ” he told his secretary and then looked at the people who had burst into his cabin.
“Dadabhai” Heer spoke her voice trembling, “Papa is getting a divorce”.
She broke down as she hugged Pratap tight, “please I don’t want a new papa, I love my papa.”
“What?” he looked at her shocked when Shakti decided to fill in the blanks for his cousin. Pratap sat in silence trying to understand the reasons behind Ajabde’s reappearance.
“Dadabhai” Patta looked at him worriedly, “do you think she will go ahead with it?” Pratap knew what Patta wanted to know whether Ajabde will make her parent's divorce fall through or was it all a game to stop Rao ji from surrounding Punwar business group to the Sisodia’s.
“I honestly don’t know.”
Looking forward to the next chapter.
